New Release: Percevale-I. The Ghosts of Time by Anne de Gandt- Currently Free!

Another intriguing tale by French author Anne de Gandt, whom I was privileged to interview, and whose other works V.I.T.R.I.O.L and Decades I’ve previously reviewed here on Flying With Red Haircrow.

Now, her work The Ghosts of Time is free at Smashwords for a limited time. Translated from French to English, the description for this short work of literary fiction written for older children or young adults can also be enjoyable to discerning adults.

Description: “Kings, Queens and Witches in sleeping castles can be full of surprises! An old name, some mysterious dreams… The heroine, helped by her friends Roiteleau & Croquignol, tries to find a hidden piece of her past. But sometimes the borderline between dream and reality is thin ….”

Take the opportunity to discover of an author you may not have read or even heard of, but who creates stories full of rich imagery made even more vivid by the exotic European flair and use of English in ways that continue to surprise and delight.

Coming December 1, 2011: “Chill Run” by Russell Brooks, Thriller Author

What’s Chill Run?

You know a publicity stunt has backfired when someone dies.
“Starving author Eddie Barrow, Jr, will do anything to get a book deal with a NYC publisher. Even if it means getting caught by the media while engaging in S&M with a female celebrity as a publicity stunt. What Eddie gets instead are details of a billion dollar fraud scheme from a suicidal client who’s fatally shot minutes later. Now on the run from the law and the killers, Eddie seeks help from two unlikely friends—an alcoholic and a dominatrix. With few resources, Eddie races to clear his name, expose the fraud scheme, and expose the killers before he becomes their next victim.”
Release date December 1, 2011 in eBook and in paperback.

Russell’s Works

Pandora’s Succession
This is Russell’s debut novel, featuring CIA operative Ridley Fox. Many readers have compared it to The Bourne Identity for its edge-of-your-seat, high-octane plot.
What are people saying about Pandora’s Succession?

“I’m going to admit it now, I love action movies, such as “Bourne Identity”, but I’ve never really read one. This was my first and I was absolutely strapped in for the ride of my life!” Laura Kentowski.

“It was absolutely bio-terrorism at its worst and I loved it.” Lou Brandau.

Unsavory Delicacies
These are three short stories of suspense with the common theme of fine dining and revenge. And Ridley Fox makes an appearance.
What people are saying about Unsavory Delicacies?

“These Robert Ludlum style spy shorts were quick and satisfying. They were a pleasure to read.” Austin James.

“With Unsavory Delicacies, Russell Brooks has cleverly crafted three suspense tales complete with surprise endings and amazingly well developed characters to entertain us.” Lynette Phillips.

Who would you run to if you witnessed the murder you were framed for? Both the feds and the real killers are after you and your only allies are an alcoholic and a dominatrix: CHILL RUN coming December 1, 2011!

New “ROCK LIT” Anthology from Vagabondage Press–Releasing 26 July 2011

United States/United Kingdom – July 26, 2011 – Vagabondage Press announces the release of rock & roll anthology “EXPERIENCED: Rock Music Tales of Fact & Fiction” on July 26th, 2011.

Cutting to the core truths of rock music culture, EXPERIENCED is among the first rock anthologies to explore rock music and culture from the inside-out. The book is edited by Roland Goity and John Ottey, and is illustrated by Kimy Martinez. Included are 16 stories by 16 writers, on topics such as touring musicians and touring fans. Label signings gone awry. A late-night DJ and a serial killer. The evolution of life as a roadie. These are stories unique to each writer; yet, you’ll discover within them an experience that is universal. Some are fiction and some non-fiction, but they’re all true.

EXPERIENCED features tales from James Greer, Fred De Vries, Timothy Weed, Brad Kava, Harold Jaffe, Scott Nicholson, Corey Mesler, Brian Goetz, Adam Moorad, Sean Ennis, Jim DeRogatis, J.T. Townley, Laurel Gilbert, Ed Hamilton, David Menconi, and Carl Peel.

“The tangent is where the real story begins in this raucous, raw-edged compilation limning the seamy underside of rock ‘n’ roll storytelling,” says Alina Simone, singer and author of You Must Go and Win.

“The stories and essays in EXPERIENCED are beautifully written, wise, and absurdly energetic. An amazing jam session of a book,” adds Michael Kardos, author of One Last Good Time

EXPERIENCED will be available at Amazon, Google Books, Barnes and Noble and other fine bookstores both brick and mortar and online in print and eReader format. eGalleys are available for review and Vagabondage Press welcomes your inquiries for interviews, guest posts and promotional giveaways.
